September in SKILL class

Hello

September has been a challenging month for many of our new SKILL students.

Change is always a challenge, given time and patience we will succeed in becoming a happy and cohesive group. I have already seen our students developing new routines and finding comfort in knowing what is expected of them.

Our day begins with our morning songs and we practise greeting each other with 'Hello' or 'Good morning'.

We look at the calendar every day and practice the days of the week in song.

In Language Arts, we have been working on some new sight words as well as practicing our phonics daily. Below is a list of the new words have been practicing. the students are both printing and repeating them. we have also put them into sentences to practice.

In Math, we are practicing our numbers from one to ten. We are using songs to practice daily. We have also begun tracing out the numbers.

Wordlist:

read, day, play, yes, mom, up, down, in, out, sit, come, go, listen, quiet, nice hands.

Parents, thank you for all your support.
Ms. Deb
